Manchester United marked Jesse Lingard’s arrival at Corinthians, highlighting the 33-year-old’s move across their social channels and official website.
According to Meu Timao, United’s write-up revisited his Old Trafford career and noted he will link up again with former team-mate Memphis Depay in Brazil. It also embedded Corinthians’ announcement video and referenced the team sitting third in the Brazilian top flight after four matches, two wins, one draw and one defeat, while noting he joins to bolster their attacking options. The piece added that, after a mutual January exit from FC Seoul, Lingard received several offers but chose Corinthians.
Lingard joined United at 13 and went on to make 232 senior appearances, scoring 35 goals and providing 21 assists. He struck the winner in the 2016 FA Cup final against Crystal Palace. He won the FA Cup, League Cup, Europa League and Community Shield, scoring in three of those finals.
He has signed for Corinthians until December 2026, with an automatic renewal possible if performance targets are met. He is yet to be registered on the CBF’s BID while paperwork is processed.
Having not played since December 2025, Lingard will undergo a period of physical reconditioning. As a result, he is unlikely to be available to face Coritiba next Wednesday at 21:30 at Neo Química Arena.
