Enzo Maresca has phoned Chelsea transfer target twice – player not picking up phone to his club

In what might be the most random and bizarre story of the transfer window so far, Enzo Maresca has been phoning a target.

In what is some confusing updates though, the player has then not been picking up the phone to his own club who have been trying to check whether it was true that Maresca had been calling him.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea reject approach for centre back this week!!

Sounds daft, right? Sounds like a soap opera, right? Well, welcome to just another silly season story in a transfer window that has just become yet another crazy one full of drama. It sells though, right? Hmmm…

Anyway, to the story. But before we get to it, let’s set the scene.

So yesterday it was reported that Chelsea are keen on signing Fermin Lopez from Barcelona as a potential alternative to Xavi Simons with that situation now well and truly up in the air.

But although there appears to be some agent contact, Fabrizio Romano is still claiming that Simons and Alejandro Garnacho are the two priorities in attack for Chelsea right now.

Apparently though, Maresca is calling for Lopez!

Absolute madness

According to @partidazocope, Chelsea informed Barcelona that their manager Enzo Maresca spoke to Fermin Lopez two times.

Barcelona tried to confirm this by calling Lopez, but he did not pick up all day yesterday.

A bit rude eh?

Not picking up his phone to his club but picking it up to Maresca!? Bit rude lad eh!? Please not my sarcasm here and some slight mickey taking!

I think I just find stories like this very funny when they are reporting detail for detail on transfer rumours and start speaking on who is calling who etc. It’s all a bit much if you ask me. I prefer the deals that are done in complete silence from nowhere!
