Leeds United have enquired about Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen as they look to strengthen before the deadline, according to The Athletic, with no formal bid yet.

Any deal faces competition and the need to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules. It would be a statement move, with Newcastle United turned down after an approach of around £60m in the summer.

The 25-year-old has one league goal this season and Wolves are bottom of the division, yet he could still enhance Leeds' attacking options.

Leeds' frontline already features Dominic Calvert-Lewin in strong form, the Premier League's Player of the Month for December.

Nottingham Forest are among the latest clubs to register interest. Leeds may hope Erling Haaland, his Norway team-mate, could help steer him towards Elland Road. Haaland was born in Leeds when his father Alfie played for the club and has expressed support for them.

"He is such a great guy. He is down to earth, and he is just a monster. We are good friends in the national team," he told Sky Sports.

Affordability may dictate whether Leeds act this winter. They have already signed Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton, and Daniel Farke says additions must raise quality in creative attacking areas and increase competition.
