Erling Haaland will miss Norway’s friendly against New Zealand.

Norway have announced he is one of several players set to leave the camp ahead of the game because of “tight match schedules”.

Haaland helped his national side to a 5-0 win over Israel on Saturday, scoring a hat-trick in the victory.

But he is now set for a longer rest ahead of Manchester City’s game against Everton on Saturday.

It is welcome news for Pep Guardiola and City, with Haaland already having played plenty of football this season.

He also struggled with a back problem following the 1-1 draw with Arsenal and will now have a chance to gain extra rest before returning to club action.
