After a solid season back in the Primera División, Espanyol will be looking to improve on their 14th place finish in the 2022-23 season.
Perhaps Espanyol’s biggest acquisition ahead of the new season is manager Diego Martínez, replacing Vicente Moreno.
The club have lost some first regulars from previous seasons, with Diego López, David López and Óscar Melendo all moving on to newer pastures at the end of their contracts. Espanyol have been proactive in the market, however.
Benjamin Lecomte as been roped in on loan from AS Monaco and is expected to be first choice in goal. Brazilian defensive midfielder Vinícius Souza has also joined on loan, having starred in the Belgian Pro League last season. Joselu has left relegated Alavés to add firepower to the Espanyol attack.
The Catalans have also spent close to €7m for the signings of central midfielders Edu Expósito and Tonny Vilhena on a permanent deal.
Outs: Óscar Melendo, David López, Diego López, Fran Mérida, Víctor Gómez, Alvaro Vadillo, Dídac Vilà, Manu Morlanes, Loren Morón, Tonny Vilhena
