Espanyol star in the sights of Arsenal | OneFootball

A key member of the first-team ranks at returning La Liga outfit Espanyol has made his way onto the radar of Premier League giants Arsenal.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Joan García as the player in question.

For those not familiar with his name, García is a 23-year-old goalkeeper, who is currently plying his trade with the aforementioned Espanyol.

García is fresh off a stellar close to the 2023/24 season, which saw him rack up ten clean sheets across 18 appearances, en route to the Periquitos booking their spot back in the top-flight of Spanish football.

And such exploits, evidently, did not go at all unnoticed at the aforementioned Arsenal.

As per a report from Relevo:

‘The London team is looking for a second goalkeeper, their intention is to sell Ramsdale and they want another goalkeeper to compete with Raya, recently signed.’

Real Madrid star Andriy Lunin is one profile being considered, but ‘the favourite’, as things stand, is that man García.
