According to Coluna Do Fla, if Flamengo confirm their place in the Copa Libertadores semi-finals, they would face Estudiantes missing two starters in the first leg. Left-back Tomas Palacios and centre-back Leandro Gonzalez Pirez are suspended after being cautioned while on a booking.
Palacios is a key outlet for Cacique Medina's side. He made the decisive play in Wednesday 16 in the 1-0 win at Corinthians' Neo Química Arena, crossing for Alexis Castro to lash in a left-foot strike in the 88th minute.
The other absentee is left-sided centre-back Leandro Gonzalez Pirez, so Estudiantes will have to turn to reserves on the left of their back line for the first leg, whether it is Flamengo or Independiente del Valle.
The tie is set for the weeks of 14 and 21 October, with the opener in La Plata and the return in the Maracanã or in Quito. CONMEBOL will confirm exact dates and kick-off times.
The winners will meet Palmeiras or Fluminense, who play in the same weeks, starting at the Maracanã before a second leg on the synthetic surface at Nubank Parque.
Flamengo will only face Estudiantes if they finish the job against Independiente del Valle. Having won the first leg 2-0, they can afford a one-goal defeat on Thursday 17 at the Maracanã, with kick-off at 21:30 Brasília time.
The match will be shown on ESPN's pay-TV channel and on the Disney Plus streaming service.
