Bologna could nail down a spot in the Europa League play-off round on Thursday evening if they are to pick up three points when Celtic visit the Dall’Ara.

Bologna have been on decent form in the Europa League this season with three wins, two draws and one defeat to their name from the opening six matches of the competition. They sit in 13th place in the league phase table with 11 points, two shy of the top eight.

Celtic are in 24th place with seven points to their name ahead of kick-off, and qualification for the knock-out rounds will likely come down to the final round of league phase fixtures for Martin O’Neill’s side.

Italiano could make a few alterations to his starting line-up following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat against Fiorentina in Serie A.

Pre-match reports indicate that Lukasz Skorupski is primed to return in goal. The Pole has not featured for the Rossoblu since sustaining an injury against Napoli in early November.

Jhon Lucumi and Martin Vitik are unavailable in defence, so it looks set to be the same partnership of Nico Casale and Torbjorn Heggem again.

There could be an opportunity for Scotland international Lewis Ferguson against Celtic on Thursday night, with Jonathan Rowe, Jens Odgaard, Benja Dominguez and Thijs Dallinga likely to start in attack according to Sky Sport Italia.

Kick-off is due at 17.45 GMT.
