John Eustace says David Ozoh’s substitution during Derby County’s 1-0 defeat to West Brom was partly tactical as his side chased an equaliser.

Ozoh was withdrawn midway through the second half as Eustace opted to introduce another striker in an attempt to find a way back into the game.

“There was a bit of tiredness, but it was tactical as well,” the Derby boss explained.

“We wanted to put another striker on, and I thought David was excellent for an hour.”

Eustace was also mindful of Derby’s quick turnaround, with the Rams back in action on Saturday.

“Hopefully, he’ll have saved his legs for Saturday now,” he added.
