Eustace gives latest update on injured Derby County strikers | OneFootball

John Eustace says Carlton Morris is still not ready to return to full training as Derby County continue to take a cautious approach with the striker.

Morris has been sidelined with a muscle injury since Derby’s 2-2 draw with Cardiff City.

Asked whether the forward had returned to training, Eustace said: “Not really. He’s done a little tiny bit with the physios and what not.

“I think it’s still probably too early for Carlton as we don’t want to risk him.

“I think Henrik [Meister] came on last night and looked sharp. He also did okay at West Ham,” he said. “We’ve got Lars who obviously scored against Portsmouth as well, so we’ve got some good options up there.”

Eustace also praised Morris for the role he continues to play off the pitch in helping Derby’s younger players.

“The senior players have got a responsibility to help develop the younger players,” Eustace added.

“Carlton certainly did that with Patrick and he’s still doing that with Patrick. I’m sure it won’t be any different with Henrik.”

Meanwhile, Eustace hopes long-term absentee Patrick Agyemang could return before the end of this year.

“He will be around November, December time, I think, with Pat,” Eustace said. “He’s progressing really well, which is really good. He hasn’t had any setbacks up to now and he’s looking good.

“He’s doing his rehab on the grass, so before anyone says anything about him being on the grass, that means he’s doing the rehab on the grass and running so he’s doing well.”
