Everton ‘agree deal to sign’ Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Lyon | OneFootball

Everton have agreed a £4.2m deal with Lyon to sign 29-year-old Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Sky Sports News reports.

The former England international is entering the final year of his contract with the French club. The move follows Everton’s earlier attempts to sign him.

Capable at full-back and in midfield, he adds versatility ahead of the new season.

Maitland-Niles joined Lyon permanently in 2023 after initially spending time on loan at the club from Arsenal. He has made 79 appearances for the French side in all competitions.

The agreement represents another departure from Lyon this summer, as the club continue to sanction sales after their UEFA Champions League exit.
