Everton agree Folarin Balogun deal to continue attacking overhaul | OneFootball

Everton have agreed a deal with Monaco to sign United States striker Folarin Balogun for around £40m as David Moyes looks set to overhaul his attack before the transfer deadline.

Everton are still in talks over a return for Richarlison from Tottenham after Manchester City agreed a £60m deal to buy Iliman Ndiaye, which could lead to Jack Grealish returning to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Balogun is set to join Everton as Beto leaves, with Fiorentina agreeing a deal to sign the 28-year-old.

Balogun, who came through Arsenal’s youth system, scored 19 goals for Monaco last season but looked unlikely to sign a new deal with the Ligue 1 club.

The 25-year-old was at the centre of major controversy at the World Cup this summer when his ban was suspended after United States president Donald Trump lobbied his Fifa counterpart Gianni Infantino.

Everton are in advanced in talks with City to bring back Grealish, who was on loan last season and with the £100m man surplus to requirements at Manchester City.

Everton are also close to ending their long search for a right-back, with Kenny Tete potentially arriving from Fulham. He could cost around £9m.

But Everton decided against selling teenage midfielder Harrison Armstrong to Nottingham Forest after a backlash from supporters. Manager David Moyes implied he did not want Armstrong to go, either, but is willing to sanction Beto’s departure.

Beto has scored 25 goals in 113 games for Everton since his £25m move from Udinese in 2023 and spent last season competing with Thierno Barry for the centre-forward’s role in Moyes’ team.
