Everton have reached a full agreement with Manchester City to re-sign England winger Jack Grealish on a season-long loan, according to The Athletic.

Grealish is scheduled to undergo a medical on Tuesday morning ahead of completing his return to Merseyside.

The breakthrough marks a significant achievement for Everton in the final hours of the summer window, as David Moyes’ side structured a deal to bring the playmaker back for a second consecutive season.

Several Premier League rivals, including Sunderland, enquired about Grealish’s availability late in the window, but Everton were the only club willing and able to meet City’s financial demands for wage coverage and loan structure.

Grealish spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Everton, becoming a key figure on the left flank. In 22 appearances, he contributed two goals and six assists, impressing with his ball retention, direct running, and creative vision.

Although a foot injury cut his campaign short in January, Grealish made a lasting impression on the squad.

Everton initially declined to trigger a £50 million permanent option earlier in the summer due to financial constraints, but patient negotiations paved the way for his temporary return.

Facilitating Grealish’s return to Everton allows City to clear squad space and manage their wage bill.

With the 30-year-old entering the final year of his contract, the loan guarantees Grealish regular minutes as he aims to stake a claim for England selection.

Meanwhile, Everton and City also recently finalised Iliman Ndiaye’s £65m move to the Etihad Stadium.
