Everton ‘agree personal terms’ with Monaco’s Folarin Balogun | OneFootball

Fabrizio Romano reports that Folarin Balogun, 25, has agreed personal terms with Everton, and has been authorised to travel for a medical.

Monaco and Everton reached agreement on Monday night on a deal worth a fixed €45m plus €5m in bonuses. The former Arsenal forward is set to sign a four-year contract.

Monaco had been open to selling the USMNT striker throughout the summer after a standout season, and his performances at the FIFA World Cup further boosted his value. He was among three players initially earmarked for sale, alongside Maghnes Akliouche and Lamine Camara.

The sale of Aladji Bamba to Newcastle United could allow Monaco to retain Camara. Unlike Camara, Balogun was keen to leave the Principality club.

Monaco moved early to secure his replacement, bringing in Matthis Abline. Freeing a non-EU spot will allow the club to finalise the arrival of Erik Lira.
