Everton Cebolinha has delivered another financial boost to Benfica, with a clause triggering an additional €1.5 million after the winger remained at Flamengo until the end of December 2025.
According to Glorioso 1904, the 29-year-old did not fully meet expectations in Lisbon, yet the clause has now been met.
He joined in 2020/21 and played two seasons, tallying 95 appearances, 15 goals and 17 assists. His output trailed his pre-move form in Brazil, where he posted 42 goals and 16 assists across the previous two and a half seasons.
He was the second most expensive signing of the 2020 window, which also featured the return of Jorge Jesus and overall spending above €100 million. When selling to Flamengo, Benfica told the CMVM they retained 10% of his economic rights, a share they no longer hold.
His current deal runs until the end of this year, and talk in Brazil points to a possible renewal as his form has picked up, notably in the last outing. Any extension would help Flamengo safeguard the €16 million fixed fee paid to Benfica, plus a further €3 million in bonuses.
In the 2026 season he has featured seven times for Flamengo, three in the Campeonato Carioca, three in the Brasileirão and one in the Supercopa do Brasil. He has logged 306 minutes, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
