A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Villarreal is the subject of growing summer interest on the part of Everton.
That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards Thierno Barry as the player in question.
Frontman Barry is for his part fresh off a productive debut campaign in Spanish football.
In 41 appearances across all competitions in the colours of the aforementioned Villarreal, the 22-year-old racked up an impressive 19 goals, and four assists.
And such production, it would appear, did not go at all unnoticed in the Premier League.
As per a report from the aforementioned Matteo Moretto, Everton have set their sights on a deal for Barry with a view to next season.
The Toffees, it is claimed, could even take into consideration activating the attacker’s €40 million release clause:
‘Everton are chasing Villarreal striker Thierno Barry. The English club are reportedly willing to pay the €40 million buyout clause. Evaluations are ongoing and no final decision has yet been made.’
