Everton have opted to recall young defender Issy Hobson from her season-long loan spell at Barclays WSL2 club Nottingham Forest.

The Toffees announced the news via a post on their official club website just a short time ago.

The 17-year-old joined Nottingham Forest on loan back in early September. She made one appearance for The Tricky Trees which came in their recent 2-1 victory over Barclays WSL2 rivals Newcastle United in the Subway Women’s League Cup.

Everton are currently struggling for defensive cover therefore the Merseyside club have opted to call time on Hobson’s loan spell with Nottingham Forest. Hobson could potentially move out on loan again later in the season, should the player’s first team involvement be limited.

The England Under-19 international will now link-up with the Everton first team once again as they prepare for Sunday’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Leicester City at The King Power Stadium.

It has been a tough start to the new season for Everton. Since defeating Liverpool 4-1 at Anfield on opening day, Brian Sørensen’s side have slipped to four consecutive defeats in all competitions. There is scope for The Toffees to improve at both ends of the pitch in the coming weeks.
