Everton and Bournemouth clash at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Tuesday night, with both sides carrying five-match unbeaten league runs into a pivotal mid-table battle.
The Toffees return to Merseyside full of confidence after a spirited 2–1 comeback victory at Fulham on Saturday. This result propelled David Moyes’s men into eighth place with 37 points. While Everton has struggled for home consistency this term, it remains one of the division’s most disciplined defensive units, conceding just 28 goals so far.
Conversely, Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth arrive as one of the league’s most improved outfits. Despite losing star man Antoine Semenyo in January, the Cherries have moved into 11th and could leapfrog their hosts with a convincing victory. Having held title-chasers Aston Villa to a 1–1 draw at the weekend, the visitors now seek to maintain their impressive recent record on this ground.
The Toffees face a significant blow with Jack Grealish likely sidelined for the remainder of the season. The Manchester City loanee requires surgery on a persistent ankle injury. In better news, Jarrad Branthwaite is fully fit following a hamstring issue. David Moyes must decide whether to restore him to the starting XI immediately or stick with the unit that won at Fulham.
Andoni Iraola is navigating a depleted midfield. Justin Kluivert (knee) is expected to be out until April, while Tyler Adams (knee) and Marcus Tavernier (thigh) also remain unavailable. Ben Gannon-Doak and Julio Soler are long-term absentees. Spanish defender Alejandro Jimenez is expected to start despite picking up a minor knock against Aston Villa.
Everton have moved into the top half after picking up points in five consecutive matches. Notably, the Toffees have won both of their Premier League matches on Tuesdays this season. They recently showed great resilience, coming from behind at Craven Cottage. Thierno Barry has rediscovered his scoring touch at home, netting three goals in his last five appearances at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Cherries arrive as one of the Premier League’s form teams, with three wins and two draws in their last six fixtures. Notably, each of the last four Premier League meetings between these sides has been 0–0 at half-time. Bournemouth have a difficult record on Merseyside, picking up just seven points in 17 trips to face Everton or Liverpool. However, they showed their quality by holding third-placed Villa to a draw last time out.
Everton Predicted XI: Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye; Armstrong, Dewsbury-Hall, Ndiaye; Barry
Bournemouth Predicted XI: Petrovic; Jimenez, Hill, Senesi, Truffert; Scott, Cook; Rayan, Kroupi, Adli; Evanilson
The match will be broadcast live in the UK on TNT Sports 5. Fans can also stream the action via the discovery+ app, with coverage starting at 19:00 GMT.
