Everton host Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup third round on Wednesday, with David Moyes’s side seeking revenge after Wolves knocked them out at this stage last season.
Victory would move Everton a step closer to a first domestic cup run of real substance under Moyes since his return. The Toffees have a quick turnaround before Premier League action resumes against Ipswich Town at the weekend, and Moyes is expected to freshen up his side accordingly.
Christian Norgaard remains unavailable for Everton and is not expected back until after the international break. Merlin Rohl will be assessed having missed Saturday’s draw with Tottenham through injury, with his involvement uncertain.
With no fresh fitness concerns elsewhere, Moyes has a fully available squad to choose from, and Jack Grealish is in line for his first start since his summer move. Jake O’Brien, Michael Keane, Hayden Hackney, Carlos Alcaraz and Tyler Dibling could all be drafted into the side, while 18-year-old Braiden Graham may also be given an opportunity as Moyes manages Thierno Barry’s workload given the club’s lack of alternative centre-forwards.
Everton possible starting XI (4-1-4-1): Pickford; O’Brien, Keane, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Garner; Dibling, Hackney, Alcaraz, Grealish; Barry
The Carabao Cup third-round match kicks off at 19:45 BST on Wednesday, 16 September 2026.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.
