Everton are weighing up striker options ahead of the January transfer window, according to iNews.

The Merseyside club signed Thierno Barry this summer for £27 million as the long-term solution to the club’s striking woes.

Unfortunately, Barry has struggled. Teammate Beto has also not been firing on all cylinders, leaving Toffees boss David Moyes frustrated.

The club is considering its options ahead of the winter window.

Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee is an option. He is frustrated with his lack of game time.

The Dutch centre-forward is struggling to dislodge big-money summer signing Benjamin Sesko, having failed to deliver the goods last season.

Lazio ace Taty Castellanos is also on Everton’s radar. They enquired about the 27-year-old Argentine forward last summer, and there are talks of the club revisiting a deal.

He has recorded two goals and three assists in six appearances, but he reportedly wants to leave the Roman club because he is unhappy with manager Maurizio Sarri.

Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus has been mooted as a potential target. Everton think they have a chance of signing him when he is fit, with Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz ahead of him in the pecking order.

It is unclear what the club’s hierarchy will do in the winter transfer window, but signing a top striker should be at the top of the priority list.
