Antonio Cassano has warned Inter Milan not to get too complacent amid a stuttering start to their Scduetto-defending campaign.

During his latest chat on the Twitch channel ‘Vivaelfutbolreal,’ as reported by FCInterNews, the former AC Milan and Real Madrid striker issued a warning to the Nerazzurri.

Inter won their 20th Serie A title last season in remarkable fashion.

Simone Inzaghi’s high-flying team left runners-up Milan 19 points behind en route to their second Scudetto in four years.

However, the wheels have fallen off in the early 2024/25 campaign.

Unused to dropping points after a 76% win ratio in 2023/24, Inter have failed to win three of their opening eight league games this season.

As a result of their indifferent start, Inzaghi’s troops trail Antonio Conte’s table-topping Napoli side by two points.

On top of that, Inter didn’t shine in a narrow 1-0 win against Roma last weekend.

They’ll likely need to do much better to take three points against Juventus in Sunday’s Derby d’Italia.

Antonio Cassano Issues a Warning to Inter Milan Amid Indifferent Serie A Start

Cassano blasted Inter’s performance at the Stadio Olimpico.

“At the Olimpico, Inter deserved by doing the bare minimum, so let’s forget those who say they play like Guardiola’s Barcelona,” he said.

“Inter are the strongest in Italy, but with Juve, it’s always a tough match.

“They have to be careful because they don’t play well.

“They concede a lot compared to last year.”

Cassano warned Inter about over-relying on Hakan Calhanoglu.

“The central player is Calhanoglu, without him the team does not play well.

“On Sunday, if he doesn’t make it back, I would put Asllani on.”

Despite all the flaws, Cassano sees Inter as the leading candidate to lift the crown.

“Inter remain the favorites for the Scudetto, but we’ll see as the months go by.”
