Corinthians hold 70% of André Luiz’s economic rights, and former academy director Claudinei Alves has explained why the remaining 30% was granted to the player during a May 2024 renewal while he was still in the youth set-up.

"The player's camp proposed R$ 4 million in signing-on fees to renew. The club did not have the cash at that moment, so we agreed to cede 30% of his economic rights in exchange for the renewal and higher release clauses, R$ 112 million domestically and €100 million internationally, about R$ 608 million. At that time, it was the solution available to avoid the risk of losing the player," he told Meu Timao.

He said the player’s representatives also indicated two proposals were already on the table to take André away, and he distanced himself from figures currently circulating in the media, adding he disagreed with the valuation being reported.

Supporters’ focus on the club’s percentage intensified after Milan offered €15 million plus €2 million in add-ons, about R$ 104 million in total at current rates, for its share. Club president Osmar Stabile blocked the formalisation of that deal.

André made his senior debut in September 2025 in a 1-0 win over Fluminense under Dorival Júnior. He has since played 24 times, with 10 starts, scoring four goals. In 2026 he has featured more often and is emerging as a standout under Dorival, who argued for his retention.
