Former Corinthians goalkeeper Kemelli has credited Lelê’s influence after being called up by Arthur Elias for Brazil’s friendlies against the United States, part of preparations for the 2027 World Cup on home soil.
“Lelê has helped me improve for many years, she is an example for our generation with her footwork and winning mentality,” she told CBFTV.
Kemelli, 27, played for Corinthians from 2021 to 2025, winning seven trophies. She arrived from Internacional to replace Lelê after her move to Benfica and made 29 appearances in her first season.
She tore the ACL in her left knee in 2022 and missed the year, when Lelê returned to the club. A 2023 loan to Cruzeiro ended with a mid-year recall under Lucas Piccinato.
In 2024 Lelê suffered an ACL injury and Kemelli initially regained minutes, but Nicole Ramos’s arrival altered the pecking order. By 2025 she was third choice and left for Fluminense.
She departed Corinthians with 57 games, 49 wins, five draws and three defeats. This year she has 16 outings for Fluminense, who are 11th in the Brasileiro Feminino, four points off Internacional in eighth.
Elias has also selected goalkeepers Lorena and Lelê, plus Corinthians pair Thaís Ferreira and Duda Sampaio, for matches on six and nine June at Neo Química Arena, São Paulo at 18:30, and Arena Castelão, Fortaleza at 21:30.
