Former Flamengo forward Maxi Biancucchi visited his cousin Messi in Miami and documented the reunion on social media. The player said in a post that seeing family filled him with joy and that they remain in his prayers, adding he was heading back to Asunción to resume his duties.
Messi, now with Inter Miami, welcomed the ex-striker during Biancucchi’s stop in the city, and the pair posed for photos.
Biancucchi represented Flamengo from 2007 to 2009, making 69 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.
He ended his playing career in 2017. Messi remains active in the professional game and is one of the leading names in world football.
Biancucchi now works as a pundit in Paraguay. He built much of his career there with Sportivo Luqueño, Libertad and Olimpia, and also played in Argentina and Mexico.
