Josef Zinnbauer's JS Kabylie secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Sead Ramovic's CR Belouizdad in the Algerian Ligue 1 on Friday.
CRB had a goal disallowed before their former striker Aymen Mahious broke the deadlock to give JSK the lead in the 71st minute.
As a result, Zinnbauer's men climbed to fifth, having accumulated 23 points from 15 league outings this season.
The former Orlando Pirates boss is under fire due to a string of poor results, with the recent win marking only their second triumph in 10 matches across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Ramovic's men are still second with 24 points from 15 games and trail log leaders Rulani Mokwena's MC Alger by 12 points.
