Ex-team-mate blasts Cristiano Ronaldo! ‘He’s very self-centred’ | OneFootball

A former teammate of the Portuguese striker tears into his recent walkout from the Portuguese national team.

Former footballer Paulo Sèrgio harshly criticized Cristiano Ronaldo on ‘DAZN’ following his controversial departure from the Portugal national team camp. The former Sporting Lisbon teammate reproached the Al Nassr star for his current lack of commitment to the national side.

During his appearance, the former player aimed a direct rebuke at the striker: “I now ask myself, because Portugal has a great deal of gratitude for Cristiano, but where is Cristiano’s gratitude toward Portugal now? He left the national team, he left his teammates… A highly egocentric attitude for me, from someone who only looks at the past and cannot accept the present.”

For Paulo Sèrgio, prioritizing personal status above the group shows an inability to accept the coaching staff’s decisions. The uproar sparked by the incident continues to shape the international media agenda surrounding the future of the legendary forward.
