Former Wolves bosses Vitor Pereira and Gary O’Neil have guided their new clubs into European semi-finals, while Rob Edwards’ side prepare for relegation.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Pereira was sacked in November and replaced by Edwards, then took charge at Nottingham Forest in February to help keep them in the top flight.

Alongside Forest’s survival fight, he has steered them through the Europa League, a 1-0 win over Porto sealing a 2-1 aggregate and a semi-final with Villa.

Pereira said it was important to put smiles on supporters’ faces, to reconnect the team and unite the family. He felt they were creating a spirit to compete, enjoy, celebrate and suffer together, which he described as the true spirit of a club.

O’Neil left Wolves in December 2024 and held talks over a sensational return last year after Pereira’s exit, but he turned the job down. He instead took over at Strasbourg in January when Liam Rosenior left for Chelsea.

Strasbourg overturned a 2-1 first-leg defeat to Mainz by winning 4-0 in the second leg, sending O’Neil’s side into the Europa Conference League semis against Rayo Vallecano.
