Harry Kane has big goals for the new season. The forward is particularly eager to take the next step with FC Bayern in the Champions League. After being eliminated in the semifinals last season, the plan this time is to go all the way to the trophy. For the 33-year-old, there’s no question that the Munich team is capable of doing so.
“We definitely have great balance in the team,” Kane explained in an interview with TNT Sports. The record champions made targeted additions this summer with Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari. Above all, however, Bayern managed to keep its star-studded offense intact.
Alongside Kane, Luis Diaz and Michael Olise play a crucial role. Both wingers have made a lasting impression on the England national team captain. Kane particularly highlights Diaz’s quick adaptation.
The Colombian moved to Munich in the summer of 2025 and needed hardly any time to settle in before becoming a key player.
“Sometimes, as an attacking player, you need a year or two to get used to someone and their style of play. But Lucho came in and clicked right away,” Kane explained.
The center forward doesn’t just appreciate Diaz’s speed and dribbling ability. Kane is particularly impressed by a quality that often receives less attention in wingers.
“What I particularly appreciate about Lucho is the way he gets into the box. Those unspectacular goals, as I like to call them. Wingers are often celebrated for their dribbling and spectacular moves. But you also have to be there at the far post and capitalize on rebounds. That’s exactly what Lucho does exceptionally well,” Kane continued.
This style of play is especially valuable for a center forward like Kane. When the opposing defense can’t focus exclusively on him, it creates additional space and options in the final third.
On the other hand, with Michael Olise, Bayern has another offensive player who has long since developed into one of the most important players in Munich’s game.

“Michael, on the other hand, is simply a wonderful soccer player,” Kane gushed.
The Englishman is particularly impressed by Olise’s understanding of game situations. “You see more and more just how exceptionally good he is on the ball. What I appreciate most about him is probably his game intelligence.”
Kane even sees parallels between Olise’s playing style and his own. “The way he reads the game is very similar to mine. His passing is top-notch. Playing alongside attacking players like that is just an incredible amount of fun,” Kane explained.
With Diaz on the left, Olise on the right, and Kane in the center, Vincent Kompany has an attacking trio that can create danger in different ways. Added to that are other options such as Saibari, Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala, and Lennart Karl.
For Kane, this very quality could prove decisive as Bayern once again aims for Europe’s soccer crown this season. The striker has already made his goal clear: “This has to be our year.”
On Thursday, the new Champions League campaign kicks off against Bodø/Glimt. Then, for the first time this season, Kane, Diaz, and Olise will have the chance to show on Europe’s biggest stage why the Englishman thinks so highly of Bayern’s offense.
