The Opta supercomputer simulates the Bundesliga 2025/26 – Bayern clearly dominates, BVB lurks, Hoffenheim is at the top
FC Bayern sent out a clear signal with their 5:1 victory in the top match against TSG Hoffenheim. After just one point from the previous two games, the Munich team not only fought back in sporting terms on matchday 21, but also confirmed their role as favourites. This has now also been confirmed by the Opta supercomputer, which has simulated the 2025/26 Bundesliga season a total of 10,000 times
Despite the comfortable lead, there is still a residual risk: Borussia Dortmund will host the record champions in their own stadium at the end of February – a direct duel that represents the last realistic chance of a real championship battle from the AI’s point of view
The forecast is clear: FC Bayern averages 83.35 points and is therefore clearly at the top of the simulated final table. Borussia Dortmund follows at a clear distance with 71.40 points
After the win against Hoffenheim, the record champions‘ probability of winning the title has risen slightly to 97.21%
Behind them, TSG Hoffenheim in particular is causing a stir: The Kraichgauers are in third place with an average of 63.68 points, leaving Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig behind them
The simulation also shows interesting shifts in the midfield. Mainz would make a decent leap and establish themselves in the secure midfield of the table. Werder Bremen, on the other hand, remain in dangerous territory according to the AI forecast, but are just outside the relegation zone. For VfL Wolfsburg, FC St. Pauli and 1. FC Heidenheim, however, the supercomputer sees gloomy prospects. According to the AI, Heidenheim and St. Pauli are threatened with a bitter relegation to Bundesliga 2, with the Wolves having to go into relegation.
