We first linked Sebastiano Esposito to Cagliari on July 2, when there was not the slightest hint of it.

In recent weeks, we have focused on Cagliari, without changing our stance and despite knowing that Parma had made some attempts, the Rossoblu’s interest in the forward, whose contract with Inter is expiring, has always been high.

Cagliari agree fee with Inter for Esposito

Cagliari have always held the cards, even though there has been absurd confusion over the matter, bolstered by the priority Esposito has given to the Rossoblu club.

Now, there is an agreement on the fee: €4 million plus 50% of any future resale. The green light is expected by tomorrow following a conversation between Marotta and Giulini, at which point the medicals will be arranged: the first available date could be Monday.

After series of loans, Esposito set to leave Inter

Esposito came up through the youth academy at Inter, joining the club at the age of 12 after some time with Brescia’s youth system. Despite this, the 23-year-old has played just 19 times for the Nerazzurri in all competitions, with just one goal.

In the last five years, Esposito has been loaned out to seven different clubs: Anderlecht, Sampdoria and, most recently, Empoli, among them.
