The games keep coming thick and fast for Celtic, and the Hoops are back at Celtic Park this Thursday evening (October 2) for their second UEFA Europa League match of the season (KO: 5.45pm).
Portuguese outfit, SC Braga are the visitors to Paradise this week and come in to the game after kicking off their Europa League campaign with a 1-0 win over Feyenoord last week.
Brendan Rodgers’ men secured a 1-1 draw in Belgrade against Crvena Zvezda in their opening UEL match last Wednesday, with Kelechi Iheanacho getting his name on the scoresheet for Celtic in the second half in Serbia.
Speaking exclusively to Celtic TV ahead of this Thursday's match against Braga, the Celtic manager said he wants his side to show their attacking threat at home and that he expects a tough test from the Portuguese side.
“Braga have had their struggles in the league,” Brendan said, “but they had a good result against Feyenoord which got them three points in the first game.
“Like all Portuguese teams, they’ll be well organised, so we’ll see what they bring. They have gifted, talented players and games at this level are always going to be a good challenge.
‘I’m really happy for us to be at home for our next two games. It’s a good opportunity for us to impose ourselves in the early stages of the competition.’
“Every time we play, I want us to be creative and attacking and play with a real speed and tempo in our game.
“We want to bring that to Celtic Park and the supporters will hopefully get behind that and enjoy it.
“I want us to put in a really good performance and get three points. Our whole duty is to win and that’s what we want to do.”
Brendan Rodgers’ full interview is available to watch exclusively on Celtic TV.
