FLW can exclusively reveal Derby County's transfer stance regarding Dajaune Brown
Derby County have given Dajaune Brown the green light to go out on loan this summer amid interest from a number of teams in both League One and League Two.
Football League World can exclusively reveal that the forward is set for a temporary exit from Pride Park for the upcoming season.
The 19-year-old is on the periphery of the Rams’ first team squad, and will be seeking regular game time elsewhere in order to get greater experience at senior level.
The Jamaica U23 international has made 15 Championship appearances so far for Derby, including three starts.
Derby have taken a closer look at Brown over the course of pre-season to determine whether he is ready for a greater role in John Eustace’s plans for the upcoming Championship campaign.
However, Football League World have been exclusively informed that the club have made the decision to green-light a loan move away from Pride Park.
There are a number of sides in both League One and League Two that are chasing his signature before the 1 September deadline.
It remains to be seen where Brown will be moving to at this stage, but his priority will be getting regular minutes at senior level over the course of the season.
He will be out to prove to Eustace that he is ready for the step up to become an important part of his Derby squad in the future.
Brown is the latest young talent to emerge from the Rams’ academy system, and has previously spent time on loan with Gateshead in the National League.
Both League One and League Two got underway last weekend, with Eustace’s team set to begin their Championship season on Saturday with a trip to face Stoke City in a 3pm kick-off.
A loan move for Brown makes a lot of sense at this stage of his career, particularly with the amount of attacking talent Derby have signed this summer.
The likes of Rhian Brewster, Patrick Agyemang and Carlton Morris have arrived, as well as Andreas Weimann, meaning competition has increased dramatically for minutes in Eustace’s side.
Brown has shown a lot of potential in the few opportunities he has been given in the first team squad, even scoring his first Championship goal when he came off the bench in the club’s 1-1 draw against Hull City in October last year.
If he can earn consistent game time on loan and perform well, then he could yet have a role to play under Eustace at Pride Park.
