Wolves are among a host of Premier League clubs lining up a move for highly-rated Angers striker Stephane Bahoken in January, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The 28-year-old has caught the eye of a number of clubs across Europe after impressing for lowly Ligue 1 side Angers over the last couple of seasons.
He scored 11 goals for the French club in his debut season and added seven goals last season before the campaign was cut short by the coronavirus pandemic.
A source at Molineux has told Football Insider that Wolves are interested in the Cameroon international as they look to sign a new striker in the winter window.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were rocked by a serious head injury to Raul Jimenez last month and with the Mexican expected to be sidelined for a significant period the club want to bolster their squad with another centre-forward.
Bahoken has started this season in fine style with five goals and one assist in just 11 league starts to help Angers to an impressive ninth spot in Ligue 1.
Premier League clubs have been watching the striker in recent weeks with a view to signing him in the January transfer window.
Bahoken’s agent, Paul Tait, has confirmed a number of clubs in the English top-flight have spoken to him regarding the striker’s availability.
Angers are bracing themselves for offers and may be forced to cash-in due to the financial crisis currently affecting a lot of clubs in France.
