Excruciating blunder from Rangers man as fans have had enough

Following Nasser Djiga’s mistimed jump v Braga where he became public enemy number one, two, and three, Djeidi Gassama has now become the new fall guy. This followed a dismal match last night against the Hungarian giants Ferencváros.

Transfer Talk and a Curious Link

This all ties in very curiously with news that Villarreal want to bring him to Spain permanently in January. That is a very timely one given how utterly diabolical he has been for Rangers.

Gassama was another signing that Ibrox Noise very much objected to. We were not happy with Championship slop coming to Rangers. He was hyped as the greatest thing since sliced bread. But at the end of the day, this was sliced bread left out overnight.

Championship Context and Pressure

It was Sheffield Wednesday in complete despair. Anyone looking even half decent for them would shine and stand out. Doing it for a lower league Championship team near relegation is different. Doing it for the mighty Rangers is another level.

That pressure comes from the Glasgow goldfish bowl.

The Error That Changed Everything

His error last night against the Hungarians caused major speculation. Gassama left his man completely. He let him go and ignored defending. Everyone else was left exposed with no chance.

The Hungarians scored their second goal from that.

Collective Failures and Management

He was not alone. Captain James Tavernier was also left completely stranded. He found himself in midfield with a Hungarian striker attacking.

Only an outstanding Djiga tackle saved an almost certain goal.

This was not just individual errors. It was poor management. This was poor coaching and poor organisation. Players do not understand their roles.

Recruitment and Fan Culture

Gassama was a poor signing. Anyone who believed he would be a spectacular success was mistaken. These are the usual hipster deluded Rangers fans.

They accept Championship slop. And they accept League One slop. They back anything wearing the Rangers shirt.

We understand support. But the lack of a critical eye is depressing. Endless backing of lower standard players and managers shows where Rangers are.

Hype Versus Reality

Gassama received backing as the next big thing. One fan argued he would be worth £20 million in months. That did not work out.

Furthermore now he may be farmed out to Villarreal if interest is serious.

A Familiar Pattern

The simple fact is the Rangers squad is filled with players like Gassama. They are low level players. A manager cannot easily get the best from them.

Another bad goal is conceded. Gassama becomes the new public enemy. The new fall guy.

Who will it be next week? We wonder.
