Sabri Lamouchi, head coach of Tunisia, will announce on Friday, May 15, the list of the 26 Carthage Eagles selected for the 2026 World Cup.

Drawn in Group F, the North African side will face the Netherlands, Japan, and Sweden.

The 2004 AFCON winners will be looking to break their World Cup curse on North American soil and, for the first time in their history, secure a place in the knockout stage.

To discuss the ideal Tunisia squad for the 2026 World Cup, “Foot Africa” reached out to Hichem Ghozzia, physical trainer for the Carthage Eagles during the 2022 World Cup and former coach at CR Belouizdad.

It's important to note that the national coach’s task won’t be easy, especially as several players have impressed at the end of this season, both in the domestic league and across Europe. The philosophy behind my choices is based on several factors, notably experience, current form, and the ability to perform at the highest level. With that in mind, I’ve opted for an experienced backline featuring Montassar Talbi, Dylan Bronn, Yassine Meriah, and Ali Abdi. In midfield, I’m building around the trio of Ellyes Skhiri, Aïssa Laïdouni, and Hannibal Mejbri. Up front, I’m putting my trust in youth with Elias Saad, Sébastien Tounekti, and Sayfallah Ltaief. Here’s my Tunisia squad for the 2026 World Cup:Defenders (9): Montassar Talbi, Dylan Bronn, Yassine Meriah, Yan Valery, Ali Abdi, Alaâ Ghram, Nader Ghandri, Mortadha Ben Ouanes, and Moutaz Neffati.Midfielders (8): Ellyes Skhiri, Aïssa Laïdouni, Hannibal Mejbri, Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane, Mohamed Hadj Mahmoud, Ismaïl Gharbi, Ferjani Sassi, and Rani Khedira.
