🏆 FA Cup Forecast: Man Utd and Liverpool swap, Chorley keep dreaming | OneFootball

With no time to rest, the FA Cup fourth round is already here and entertainment is guaranteed.

Expect giant-killings, part-timers facing the professionals, and plenty of use of the word magic.

Here’s what to expect.

💥 Tie of the round

Manchester United v Liverpool

These two are on thin ice after their dismal 0-0 draw at Anfield, but technically they are tie of the round – so we’re giving them one more chance.

United are currently top of the Premier League and this fixture, while important, could prove an opportunity for rotation and even Amad Diallo making his debut.

But Liverpool are desperate. Their domestic form has tanked and after four games without a win, Jürgen Klopp is likely to go full strength at Old Trafford.

We’re expecting an open game with players keen to impress and hope this deep-rooted rivalry can spark some spice for the neutral. (cue another 0-0)

😱 Potential cupset

Chorley v Wolves

That’s right. We’re going there. Non-league Chorley are going to repeat their FA Cup heroics and beat Premier League side Wolves.

The famous Magpies (sorry Newcastle fans) have struggled for consistency in the National League, but are still riding the high of beating Derby in round three.

Wolves, on the other hand, will be welcoming this distraction. They head to Merseyside with just two wins in ten and desperately need a win – however it comes.

Nine times out of ten, Chorley lose by five goals and leave the stadium with pats on their back. But if you can’t believe in that one then, what’s the point at all?

😎 Easiest win

Cheltenham v Manchester City

After beating Birmingham in round three, Manchester City have drawn lower league opposition again and we’re expecting another easy victory.

The Robins started well this season but seem to have hit a wall, winning just one of their last five games and dropping down to sixth in League Two.

City have done the opposite. Their inconsistent start has now been replaced with green ‘Ws’ in their results column and look formidable from back to front.

Pep Guardiola could make ten changes and still field an XI worth one hundred times that of their opponents. That’s just how it goes.

👁 Keep an eye on

Brentford v Leicester

Two teams with exciting young talent, attacking philosophies and impressive form clash in Hounslow. What’s not to like?

Leicester are Premier League dark horses and will undoubtedly hand opportunities to fringe players; which fortunately includes Cengiz Ünder, Dennis Praet and Caglar Söyüncü.

But everyone knows about Brentford. A side currently storming the Championship, with players likely to be targeted by top flight clubs next summer. Make no mistake – they’re good.

We’re not sure if an upset is on the cards but this could be an end-to-end game nonetheless.

Elsewhere …

A resurgent Sheffield Wednesday travel to Everton on Sunday evening for what looks like a potential banana skin for the Blues.

Chelsea, with Frank Lampard in dire need of a win, host Championship side Luton while across the road in west London, Burnley travel to Fulham.

Sheffield United will be hoping to avoid potential embarrassment against League One Plymouth and it’s an all-Premier League affair at St Mary’s as Southampton host Arsenal.
