Fabien Barthez named France goalkeeping coach under Zinédine Zidane

Fabien Barthez has been appointed France goalkeeping coach, the French Football Federation announced on Thursday.

He joins the backroom staff of new head coach Zinédine Zidane.

The 55-year-old, capped 87 times, was a World Cup winner with Les Bleus in 1998.

Barthez will oversee specialist training for the national team’s goalkeepers.

France convene in September, with their first assignment an away trip to Türkiye on 25 September in the Nations League.
