Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool failed bid to sign Real Madrid star | OneFootball

Real Madrid will not be very active in the remaining 48 hours of the summer transfer window, with Jose Mourinho’s squad considered closed. The club are happy with the six signings plus exits made, with everyone in the senior setup considered to be very valuable to the Portuguese.

There were a number of players in the Real Madrid squad that attracted offers throughout the summer, but only Dani Ceballos, Fran Garcia, Gonzalo Garcia and Franco Mastantuono (loan) were allowed to leave. Of those still at the club, Endrick was one that attracted a lot of interest, particularly from the Premier League.

A couple of weeks ago, it was reported that Liverpool tried to sign Endrick, and this information has now been corroborated by Fabrizio Romano.

“The club that really tried, but not now, three weeks ago, to sign Endrick was Liverpool. Liverpool has asked for Endrick as a possibility. I told you already in a video a few weeks ago. Not Arsenal. Liverpool tried for Endrick, but the player was not again available on the market.”

Mourinho has plans for Endrick

Real Madrid, and particularly Mourinho, were always clear that Endrick was to stay this summer. There was a lot of delight with his successful loan spell at Lyon during the second half of last season, and that has changed the situation he found himself in prior to moving to France. However, he could find opportunities difficult to come by, with his two positions (striker and right wing) being well-stocked by the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Carlos Espi, Yan Diomande and Arda Guler.

Endrick is currently unavailable for Real Madrid due to injury, but when he does make his return to action in the coming weeks, it will be interesting to see how much he is utilised by Mourinho, who is spoiled for choice with his attacking options.
