According to Fabrizio Romano, West Ham rejected two January approaches for Crysencio Summerville, considered him untouchable for this season and the player was content to stay and help, and the summer will be different with June one to watch. The Dutch winger has since hit form for the Hammers.

Summerville joined West Ham from Leeds in August 2024 in a £28m deal after 20 goals and 11 assists in 2023/24, when he won the Championship Player of the Season, although he struggled in the play-off final defeat to Southampton.

A stuttering start in London gave way to regular minutes under Nuno Espirito Santo, and he has scored three goals in his last three Premier League games. His recent strikes helped deliver back-to-back wins over Spurs and Sunderland.

Spurs were among those linked with a January move, though a mid-season switch from the London Stadium never looked likely. West Ham will want him fully focused through to May.

The Hammers sit 18th, six points from safety. Leeds and Nottingham Forest are level on 26 points and goal difference, separated only by goals scored. Leeds host Forest on Friday, then West Ham visit Burnley before finishing the season against Leeds at the London Stadium.

Last season his form dipped late, with no goal or assist in 11 of Leeds’ final 14 league games before the play-off defeat to Southampton.
