The Liga MX side are attempting to sign the midfielder despite Palmeiras reportedly agreeing to a club-record deal with Orlando City for the Uruguayan.

The new update states, "Cruz Azul are confident, but they have yet to submit a bid to Orlando City for the player."

Torres has 37 goals and 20 assists in 95 regular season games with Orlando.

His individual performances have helped the club win the 2022 US Open Cup and saw Orlando reach this year's Eastern Conference final.
