Former FC Metz attacking midfielder Farid Boulaya (29) is set to sign for Qatari side Al Gharafa, with the player set to undergo his medical on Sunday, according to Nabil Djellit.
Boulaya left Metz this summer after his contract with the club expired. He made 24 Ligue 1 appearances for the club last season, scoring four times and registering two assists. However, his contribution wasn’t enough to prevent Metz from relegation to Ligue 2.
Boulaya is now set for a move to Qatar and a deal should be completed should he pass his medical, which is set to take place imminently. The Algerian international had garnered interest from Turkish side Alanyaspor, although a move didn’t materialise.
Having made his Algeria debut in 2020, Boulaya has gone on to make eight appearances for his national team and he has scored just once. Should he complete his move to Al Gharafa, the Qatari club would represent the sixth club of Boulaya’s career.
