Dundee Utd beat St Mirren 2-1 at Tannadice, with Amar Fatah converting a late penalty to secure the points and keep United seventh in the Scottish Premiership.

In the eighth minute, Marcus Fraser turned into his own net to hand United the lead.

Shamal George kept St Mirren in it before the break with sharp saves from Vicko Sevelj and Panutche Camara.

After the restart, substitute Jake Young levelled from Scott Tanser's cross (47.). It was Young's first goal for St Mirren since joining in January. Killian Phillips then struck the left post with a header (66.).

A handball by Alexandros Gogic was penalised (79.). Fatah converted from the spot to restore United's advantage (83.).

Six minutes of added time were shown and United managed the closing stages.

The Arabs finished with 18 attempts and 53.6% possession. St Mirren registered nine attempts and hit the woodwork once.

Next, United visit Falkirk in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals. St Mirren host Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup next.
