Fatal Fans have formalised an addendum to their Corinthians sponsorship to help renew Memphis Depay, days after the club chose not to extend his deal on Tuesday.

According to Meu Timao, the brand offered R$ five million solely to cover Memphis Depay’s costs, lifting its contract from R$ 22 million to R$ 27 million. It also set conditions including LED boards in Brasileirão matches, exposure on his training shirt only, an extra interview backdrop, an exclusive box and a video announcement.

The funding would activate only if Memphis Depay and Corinthians agree a new deal, and president Osmar Stabile is reviewing the addendum. Hours after the club’s announcement, the 32-year-old expressed frustration on social media with how the talks were handled.

Corinthians decided not to extend the forward’s contract, which expired on 31 July, citing the institution’s financial health. The board had been seeking new partners to ease any renewal.

The proposed new two-season deal included reduced salary, bonuses and other payments, and set a renegotiated R$ 42 million debt.

Under the previous arrangement, Esportes da Sorte, the main sponsor, was to pay R$ 57 million of the agreement between club and player. In any fresh package, Fatal Fans would help meet his wages.

Fatal Fans’ deal runs until December 2027 with an option to 2028, worth R$ 22 million fixed, with triggers that could add R$ nine million to total R$ 31 million.
