FC Bayern will soon be able to rely on a much wider squad again. After a long phase with numerous absentees, the personnel situation is easing noticeably. Head coach Vincent Kompany expressed his satisfaction at the press conference ahead of the away game at Hamburger SV and made it clear how important the right time is for the players to return.

„It’s about having the squad fully available at the right time. That’s important,“ explained Kompany, pointing out that several key players had been missing recently but were now back as options for the coaching team. A full squad is crucial, especially in the hot phase of the season, in order to remain competitive at all levels.

With regard to the defence, the Belgian was able to provide several positive personnel updates. „Dayot Upamecano was away, but is now back,“ said Kompany. Raphael Guerreiro is also about to return to training. „Raphael Guerreiro was away, but will be back on Monday or Tuesday,“ said the Bayern coach. Kompany also indicated that Josip Stanisic should also be available again soon.

„Jamal, Alphonso Davies are back“, Kompany summarized: „Serge Gnabry was back against PSV.“ Kompany also named Nicolas Jackson as another returnee who is back in the squad.

The coach was noticeably relieved by the amount of positive news. „I’ll be happy just to be able to say that,“ said Kompany.
