FC Köln interested in Bayer Leverkusen striker Joel Pohjanpalo

FC Köln are interested in signing 26-year-old striker Joel Pohjanpalo from fellow Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, according to Bild.

The Finland international has 12 months remaining on his current deal and an extension is unlikely with Pohjanpalo not featuring in the plans of new B04 head coach Gerardo Seoane. He would therefore be available to leave on a free transfer next summer.

But Köln are interested in doing a deal for Pohjanpalo this summer with Bayer Leverkusen setting an asking price of around €1 million.

The Billy Goats have also shown an interest in signing Borussia Dortmund striker Steffen Tigges as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of the 2021/22 Bundesliga season.
