FC Porto are level at 1-1 with Rangers in the Europa League at Estádio do Dragão. Djeidi Gassama headed the visitors ahead, Rodrigo Mora replied from close range. The match is ongoing, with Jasper Vergoote officiating.
According to O Jogo, Porto started the night ninth in the league phase on 14 points, the first spot outside direct last-16 qualification. A win should be enough to dodge the play-off, although they still need a slip from a team above. Rangers are already eliminated in 32nd.
Rangers kicked off, Porto immediately broke and William Gomes had a penalty appeal waved away. Samu was flagged offside soon after, before the visitors’ first attack ended with a cross behind.
Gassama then headed in unopposed on seven minutes after slack home defending. Porto laboured in midfield, Rangers were pulled up for an attacking foul, and the hosts still had no shot on target.
Samu finally tried from range but cleared the bar, and Jakub Kiwior also missed from distance. Porto asked for another penalty at a rehearsed indirect free-kick, only for offside to be given.
Their best spell arrived around the 25-minute mark without reward. Two minutes later Mora levelled, the young midfielder starting the move in his own half and finishing after William Gomes’ effort was parried into his path.
