FC Porto have paid Benfica almost 800,000 euros in compensation from the Caso dos Emails, complying with a Supreme Court of Justice decision.
According to O Jogo, in February 2025 the Supreme Court of Justice issued a judgment on complaints in the appeal recurso de revista 9452/18.1T8PRT.P1.S1. It ordered Futebol Clube do Porto, Futebol Clube do Porto - Futebol, SAD, FCP Media, SA, Avenida dos Aliados, SA and Francisco José Marques to pay Benfica SAD and Sport Lisboa e Benfica 605,300 euros plus default interest, calculated at the civil rate, from citation until full payment.
That amount, including interest due, has since been settled in full, with Benfica SAD receiving a total of 799,328 euros.
The Supreme Court of Justice ratified the sentence previously delivered by the Tribunal da Relação.
The case centred on the disclosure of messages improperly taken from Benfica’s servers.
