FC Porto set all-time I Liga halfway record with 49 points

FC Porto closed the first half of the league season on 49 points, an all-time best after 17 matches, built on 16 wins and one draw.

According to O Jogo, the victory in the Azores moved them beyond Benfica’s previous benchmark of 48 points in 2019/20 under Bruno Lage.

That Benfica side amassed its tally with 16 wins and one defeat, which came against Porto.

Porto have conceded only four league goals so far.

That defensive mark is surpassed only by Porto teams that allowed two in 83/84 and 91/92, and three in 95/96.
