FCB Women host Paris FC at new home in Unterhaching | OneFootball

After two friendlies against RB Omiya in Japan and against 1. FC Nürnberg in Donauwörth, FC Bayern Women will now take to the field at their future home ground for the first time since its acquisition. Paris FC are the first visitors to Sportpark Unterhaching – kick-off is at 16:00 CEST. Before that, there’ll be lots of activities for supporters to enjoy at the Fan Festival. For those who can’t attend, FC Bayern TV PLUS is broadasting the game live.

After two good workouts in Tokyo and Bavaria, there are two highlights on the calendar over the coming week for Bayern Women. Before the Supercup against VfL Wolfsburg next Saturday (15 August) and the first opportunity for silverware of the season, the Munich girls will first begin a new chapter in the club’s history against Paris FC on Sunday (16:00 CEST). The clash with last season’s Première Ligue runners-up will be the first held at Sportpark Unterhaching, which will host the double winners’ Champions League home matches this season and be their permanent home in the future. Having shown character to twice come from behind and draw 2-2 against Nürnberg last time out, José Barcala’s side will now be eyeing a successful warm-up for the Supercup against the women from the French capital.

As well as an attractive contest on the pitch between two of Europe’s top teams, fans will also get their money’s worth outside the stadium on Sunday afternoon. More info:

The opponents: Paris FC

There’s an eventful history behind Paris FC. The club was originally formed in the south of Paris in 1971 under the name Étoile sportive de Juvisy-sur-Orge, but later split and became a purely women’s football club named Football Club Féminin Juvisy Essonne. Between 1991 and 2006, FCF won six French championships as well as one Coupe de France, before being acquired and absorbed by Paris FC in 2017. A further cup victory under the new name followed in 2025. The Parisians, who are currently coached by former France international Sandrine Soubeyrand, who also played for FCF from 2000 to 2014, reached the play-off final in the French league last season, where they lost to 5-0 to OL Lyonnes. With the Première Ligue campaign only beginning on 6 September, the first encounter with FC Bayern is also Paris’ first friendly of the summer.

Bernadette Amani remains unavailable due to her involvement with Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations. Her team face Algeria in the quarter-finals after winning the group.

Anna Klink (metacarpal fracture), Giulia Gwinn (rehab after shoulder operation), Vanessa Gilles (muscular injury), Edna Imade and Franziska Kett (both ankle) also remain sidelined. Lena Oberdorf and Sarah Zadrazil will not yet be involved against Paris, but new signing Sophie Proost is set to be included in the squad for the first time. 

Damnjanović: ‘Paris FC is an acid test’

Jovana Damnjanović and her team-mates are excited for the final pre-season friendly: “We’re really looking forward to the match and the fans in our new stadium in Unterhaching. It will certainly be a special and nice day for us. We players are mainly focusing on the match and our opponents in the last friendly before the start of the season. Paris FC will be a real acid test as French runners-up. They have exciting and dangerous players in the squad who will certainly ask questions of us. And that’s exactly what you want in the final friendly.”
