A member of the Barcelona loan army may have picked up a serious injury on Sunday.
That’s according to Marca, who point towards Clément Lenglet as the player in question.
Defender Lenglet was for his part afforded a starting berth this evening, as Atlético Madrid locked horns with Leganés in a La Liga clash.
The Frenchman, during his time on the pitch, impressed, en route to an eventual 3-1 triumph for Diego Simeone’s Rojiblancos.
Just beyond the hour mark, however, disaster struck for Lenglet.
After being landed on awkwardly by teammate Axel Witsel, the stopper remained grounded, in evident pain.
Tended to by the Atlético medical team, it quickly became evident that Lenglet was in no condition to continue, replaced by José María Giménez as a result.
The former Aston Villa man, from here, made his way down the tunnel boasting a heavy limp, amid confirmation from Marca that ‘there is no optimism regarding the player’s ailment’.
Fears, in fact, are spreading that Lenglet may have suffered a serious knee injury, which could keep him on the sidelines ‘for a long time’.
